Your Helicopter Journey – Step by Step

Flying with Jaynevy Tours is designed to be smooth, safe, and exciting. Whether you’re transferring from Zanzibar Airport to your resort, flying to Pemba Island, heading to Dar es Salaam, or enjoying a scenic flight, here’s exactly what to expect.

1. Before Your Flight – Preparation

Booking Confirmation
Once booked, you’ll receive a confirmation with your exact pickup time, meeting point (Zanzibar Airport or your resort), and flight details.
Luggage
Pack only soft-sided bags (maximum 15 kg per person, recommended size 50cm × 25cm × 30cm). Hard suitcases and wheeled luggage are not suitable and may need separate transfer.
What to Wear
Comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. Avoid loose scarves, hats that can blow away, or high heels. Sunglasses and sunscreen are recommended.

2. Arrival & Check-in

Arrive 30–45 minutes before your scheduled departure time.

  • At Zanzibar Airport (ZNZ): Use our fast-track assistance if requested.
  • At your resort: Our team will meet you at the designated helicopter landing area.

You’ll be greeted by our ground crew, who will check your luggage weight and confirm passenger details.

3. Safety Briefing

Before boarding, your pilot will give a clear safety briefing covering:

  • How to board and exit the helicopter safely
  • Seatbelt and door operation
  • Headset use for communication
  • Emergency procedures

All passengers receive noise-canceling headsets so you can hear the pilot’s commentary during the flight.

4. Boarding & Take-off

Once the safety briefing is complete, you’ll board the Airbus helicopter. Every seat offers excellent forward and side views. The engines start smoothly, and you’ll feel a gentle lift-off as the helicopter rises into the sky.

Take-off is quick and stable — most passengers describe it as surprisingly calm and exciting rather than turbulent.

5. During the Flight

This is the highlight! Expect:

  • Panoramic 180°+ views from every seat
  • Pilot commentary highlighting beaches, reefs, spice farms, or Pemba’s lush interior
  • Smooth, quiet flight thanks to our modern low-noise helicopters
  • Plenty of time for photos and videos (through the windows)

Flight duration is short and comfortable — 10–20 minutes to most resorts, 20–30 minutes to Pemba, and 30–45 minutes to Dar es Salaam.

6. Landing & Arrival

Your pilot will make a gentle landing directly at your resort’s private landing site (or designated heliport in Dar es Salaam). Resort staff will usually be waiting to welcome you as soon as the rotors stop.

You’ll disembark, collect your luggage, and your holiday (or next adventure) begins immediately — no long transfers needed.
