Car Rental Service - Terms & Conditions

1. General Provisions

These Terms and Conditions govern the rental of vehicles from our service in Arusha and Moshi, Tanzania. By making a reservation, you (the "Renter") agree to comply with these terms. Our service reserves the right to update these terms at any time, with changes effective upon posting on our website.

2. Eligibility

• Renters must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s license issued at least one year prior to the rental start date.
• International renters must provide an International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside their valid driver’s license.
• Renters must present a valid passport or national ID and a credit/debit card in their name at the time of pickup.

3. Rental Periods and Rates

Rental durations are flexible (hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly) as outlined in our booking system. Rates are quoted at the time of reservation and include:

• Vehicle rental cost based on the selected duration.
• Basic insurance coverage (Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Protection, subject to excess).
• 24/7 roadside assistance.

Additional fees may apply for optional extras (e.g., GPS, child seats) or late returns. All rates are subject to availability and may change without notice.

4. Pickup and Drop-Off

Vehicles can be picked up and dropped off at designated locations in Moshi and Arusha, including Kilimanjaro International Airport, Arusha city center, or select hotels. Specific arrangements must be confirmed at booking. Late drop-offs may incur a fee of $10 per hour, up to a full day’s rental rate.

5. Vehicle Use

• Vehicles may only be driven by the Renter or additional drivers listed in the rental agreement.
• Vehicles must not be used for illegal activities, commercial purposes (e.g., taxi services), or off-road driving unless specified (e.g., 4x4 rentals).
• Driving outside Tanzania requires prior written approval from our service.
• Smoking, transporting pets, or carrying hazardous materials in the vehicle is prohibited.

6. Insurance and Liability

All vehicles include basic insurance coverage, with an excess (deductible) applicable in case of damage or theft. Renters may purchase additional coverage to reduce excess. The Renter is liable for:

• Damage to the vehicle beyond normal wear and tear.
• Loss of keys, accessories, or documents (e.g., $200 replacement fee for keys).
• Fines, tolls, or penalties incurred during the rental period.

7. Payment and Deposits

A refundable security deposit (minimum $200, depending on vehicle type) is required at pickup. Full payment for the rental must be made at booking or pickup via credit/debit card or approved payment method. Cancellations made 48 hours prior to pickup are fully refundable; later cancellations may incur a 50% fee.

8. Fuel Policy

Vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank. If returned with less fuel, the Renter will be charged for refueling at market rates plus a $15 service fee.

9. Cancellations and Modifications

Reservations can be modified or canceled online or by contacting our support team. Modifications are subject to availability and may incur rate changes. No-shows without prior notice forfeit the full rental amount.

10. Roadside Assistance and Breakdowns

24/7 roadside assistance is included. In case of a breakdown, contact our support team immediately. Unauthorized repairs by the Renter will not be reimbursed. The Renter is responsible for damage caused by negligence (e.g., driving with low oil or flat tires).

11. Termination of Agreement

We reserve the right to terminate the rental agreement and repossess the vehicle if the Renter breaches these terms, including unsafe driving or unauthorized use. No refunds will be issued in such cases.

12. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Tanzania. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Arusha, Tanzania.
