Activity 1: A Drive to Marangu Gate
The day will begin with a drive from Moshi town to Marangu gate, upon reaching the gate you will have to complete the national park formalities you will then start your hike from Marangu gate to Mandara hut which will take you 3 to 4hrs hike a distance of 8 kilometers reaching the hut, walking through the rainforest where you can enjoy the view of Maundi crater and seeing the eucalyptus trees, birds and the colobus monkeys.
Activity 2: Marangu day hike
The canopy overhead is alive with birdsong and strange rustlings – is that a colobus and the Mongoose might scuttle ahead of you. You’ll also meet tired hikers descending from the summit. Give them a high five for effort.
Activity 3: Lunch at Mandara hut and a trek down to Mweka gate
You will have your lunch at Mandara hut and after replenishing yourself you will walk to the Maundi Crater which is a bit challenging hike enjoying the stunning Mawenzi view on the northwest while on the east is an awe view of Taveta. After this short joyful adventure, you will trek down to Marangu gate and then be picked up and drive back to Moshi town.
