The route moves gradually from Arusha through the Ngorongoro highlands into Serengeti, avoiding the original itinerary's unnecessary return journey between Ngorongoro and Serengeti. Exact departure times, camps and the balloon launch area depend on your travel date and confirmed accommodation.
Day 1: Arusha to Karatu via Lake Manyara or Tarangire
After breakfast, your guide collects you from Arusha for a private 4x4 drive to either Lake Manyara or Tarangire, selected according to season and your interests. Enjoy a game drive and picnic lunch before continuing to Karatu for dinner and your first overnight stay.
Day 2: Karatu to Central Serengeti
