5-Day Serengeti Tanzania Safari Itinerary
The itinerary below follows the route already described for this package. Road conditions, park procedures, weather, accommodation location and wildlife movement can change daily timing, so we confirm pickup details and overnight arrangements before travel.
Pre-Safari Arrival: Airport or Arusha Transfer
The original itinerary includes an arrival transfer from Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport to a hotel or lodge. Because the source page does not clearly state whether this transfer and pre-safari night are included in the five-day package price, we confirm them separately in your written quotation rather than assuming they are included.
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, we depart from the Arusha pickup point confirmed in your booking and travel to Tarangire National Park for a game drive. Tarangire is especially associated with elephant viewing, baobab landscapes and seasonal concentrations of wildlife, but the animals you encounter vary from day to day. Lunch arrangements follow the confirmed itinerary, and later you continue to your overnight accommodation in the wider Karatu or Ngorongoro area.
Day 2: Ngorongoro Highlands to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you travel through the Ngorongoro highlands toward Serengeti National Park. Once you reach the Serengeti, the safari shifts from transfer driving to wildlife viewing as time allows. The existing itinerary focuses on the Central Serengeti/Seronera area, where watercourses and varied habitats can support wildlife throughout much of the year. Dinner and overnight are at the Serengeti accommodation confirmed in your quotation.
Day 3: Full-Day Serengeti Game Drive
You have a full day for game drives in Serengeti. Your driver-guide chooses the route according to recent wildlife activity, road conditions and your interests rather than promising a fixed list of species. Wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, hippos, lions, elephants and many other animals may be encountered, while leopard, rhino and other specific sightings cannot be guaranteed.
If the Great Serengeti Migration is a priority, tell us your travel month before booking. The herds move through different parts of the wider ecosystem, so the standard Central Serengeti plan may not always be the best migration-focused routing for every date.
Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast and wildlife viewing as time allows, you leave Serengeti and travel toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The existing itinerary includes a stop at Olduvai Gorge on this transfer. We confirm the exact stop, available time and any admission arrangements in your quotation because they can affect the day's schedule. You then continue to the accommodation confirmed for the Ngorongoro area.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive and Return to Arusha
After an early breakfast, you descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive before returning to Arusha. The crater provides opportunities to see a wide range of mammals and birds in a relatively compact landscape, but black rhino, lions, elephants, flamingos and other individual species cannot be guaranteed. Your return time depends on the day's crater schedule, road conditions and your confirmed Arusha drop-off point.
