Northern Safari or Southern Safari for Your Honeymoon?
- The north (Tarangire, the Ngorongoro Crater, the Serengeti) is the classic choice: the most wildlife, the Great Migration, the crater and lodges with famous views. Distances are covered by road, with a flight to Zanzibar at the end.
- The south (Nyerere, the former Selous) is quieter and wilder, with safaris by boat on the Rufiji River and on foot with an armed ranger, which the northern parks don't offer. It is about an hour by light aircraft from Zanzibar, and pairs naturally with Mafia Island's marine park.
