Mandatory Inbound Travel Insurance
Zanzibar has required inbound travel insurance since 2024, and mainland Tanzania requires it from October 1, 2026. It costs US$44 per adult, and one policy covers both, bought for your first point of entry. It is not a replacement for your own travel insurance with medical evacuation, which you still need.

Arriving in Tanzania
