How Does the 1-Day Arusha National Park Walking & Game Drive Itinerary Work?
We normally collect you from your Arusha hotel in the morning, drive to Arusha National Park, coordinate your walking safari with the park ranger, continue with a picnic lunch and game drive, and return you to Arusha by early evening. Exact timing can change with your pickup point, gate procedures, weather and park operations.
Day 1: Walking Safari & Game Drive in Arusha National Park
Highlights: Ranger-guided walk, game drive, Momella Lakes area, Ngurdoto Crater viewpoints, Mount Meru scenery and possible wildlife including giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, monkeys and waterbirds.
A typical departure is around 7:30 AM from your Arusha hotel. The road transfer to the park is approximately 45 minutes, although traffic and the exact pickup location can change this. After park entry, we coordinate with the ranger for the walking portion. The route and walk length are confirmed according to park procedures, trail conditions and the ranger's safety assessment on the day.
After the walk, you have a picnic lunch and continue by 4x4 safari vehicle through selected game-viewing areas. Depending on road and wildlife conditions, the drive may include the Momella Lakes area, forest sections and Ngurdoto Crater viewpoints. Your driver-guide helps you scan for wildlife, but sightings remain natural and cannot be guaranteed. We normally plan to return to Arusha around 5:30–6:00 PM.
Included Activities:
- Ranger-guided walking safari on an approved park route
- Game drive through Arusha National Park
- Scenic viewing around Mount Meru, lakes and crater areas where accessible

Overnight: Not included; this is a day trip.

Operational note: We may change the order of walking and game driving if ranger availability, weather, trail conditions or park instructions require it.
