  1. Day 1: Arrival in Dar es Salaam

Your driver meets you at Julius Nyerere International Airport and takes you to your hotel in the city center or on the Msasani Peninsula. We confirm your match times, pickup points and the plan for the free days with you, and you have a WhatsApp line to our team for the whole trip.

  2. Day 2: First match day at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium

A free morning, then your driver collects you in good time for the match at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Temeke and brings you back to the hotel after the final whistle. Dar es Salaam's traffic is heavy, and match days will be busier still, so we leave early and you never have to look for transport in the crowds.

  3. Day 3: A free day in Dar es Salaam: city, island or Bagamoyo

A day to rest between matches, or to see more of the coast. Our guided trips cost US$123 per person with transport, guide and lunch: a city tour of the National Museum, Kariakoo market, the Kivukoni fish market and the old town; a 20-minute boat from Msasani to Bongoyo Island for a beach and snorkeling; or historic Bagamoyo, the old caravan town about 43 miles (70 km) north, with the Kaole ruins.

  4. Day 4: Second match day at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium

On arrival you are met and taken to your hotel in Stone Town. In the afternoon a local guide walks you through the old town: the Old Fort, the House of Wonders, the former slave market and Anglican cathedral, Darajani market and the carved doors, ending at Forodhani Gardens on the seafront.

Common Questions About the AFCON Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar Package

Are match tickets included?

No. Tickets are sold through the official tournament channels, but we can help: we guide you through the official sale, help you buy tickets for your team's matches and can arrange the purchase for you, then plan the days and transfers around them.

Which stadium is used in Dar es Salaam?

The Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Temeke, south of the city center, Tanzania's main national stadium with 60,000 seats. It is one of four proposed Tanzanian venues; CAF confirms the final venues with the fixtures. Your driver takes you there and back on each match day.

How long is the ferry from Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar?

About two hours on the fast ferry, at US$55 per person. We book it and arrange the transfers to and from the ports.

Do I need my passport to go to Zanzibar?

Yes. Zanzibar has its own immigration check on arrival, even from mainland Tanzania, so keep your passport with you on the ferry.

Can we stay longer on the beach?

Yes. Add as many beach nights as you like at the end; extra Zanzibar excursions such as Jozani Forest or a sunset dhow cruise cost US$105 per person each.

Why is there no fixed price yet?

We are confirming hotel rates in Dar es Salaam for the tournament, so the full package is quoted for your dates and hotel level. The other parts already have fixed prices, listed on this page, and your quotation shows each one.

What if the fixtures change or my team goes through to the next round?

We rearrange the free days around the new dates and add nights or match transfers if you stay longer; each extra match day is US$40 per person for the return transfer, or US$30 per person for groups of four or more.

Is Jaynevy Tours an official AFCON partner?

No. We are an independent Tanzanian tour operator based in Moshi, and we arrange travel around the tournament; we are not affiliated with CAF or the organizers.
