What You Need to Know: This 10-day AFCON 2027 package combines two match days at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam with a 2-day Mikumi safari by SGR train between them (US$964 per person) and four nights on Zanzibar: Stone Town, Prison Island and the beach. It includes all transfers, the fast ferry (US$55 per person) and 9 nights of accommodation, and is quoted on request while we confirm hotel rates for the tournament. Match tickets are not included, but we can help you get them.
Who Is the Dar es Salaam, Mikumi and Zanzibar Package For?
It is the complete AFCON trip from Dar es Salaam: the matches, a real safari and the beach, without a domestic flight. It suits fans traveling for the whole group stage who want to see more of Tanzania than the stadium, and partners or families who will enjoy the safari and Zanzibar as much as the football.
| This package suits you if… | Consider another trip if… |
|---|---|
| Your team plays at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium and you have about ten days | You have six days: AFCON Dar es Salaam matches and Mikumi |

| You'd like a safari without flying north | You want the Serengeti: AFCON matches, Serengeti and Zanzibar |
The Benjamin Mkapa Stadium is one of four proposed Tanzanian venues; CAF confirms the venues with the fixtures. We fit the days to your team's schedule once it is published, and requote if the venue changes.

Day 2: First match day at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium
A free morning, then your driver collects you in good time for the match at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Temeke and brings you back to the hotel after the final whistle. Dar es Salaam's traffic is heavy, and match days will be busier still, so we leave early and you never have to look for transport in the crowds.

Day 3: SGR train to Morogoro and an afternoon game drive in Mikumi
An early start for the SGR electric train, which leaves Dar es Salaam around 6:00 and reaches Morogoro in about 1 hour 40 minutes. Your guide meets you at Morogoro station for the drive of about 2 hours to Mikumi National Park. After lunch you head out onto the Mkata floodplain until sunset, looking for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes and lions, and stopping at the Hippo Pools. Overnight inside the park at Mikumi Cottages or similar.

Rest, or see more of the coast on one of our guided trips at US$123 per person with transport, guide and lunch: a city tour of the National Museum, Kariakoo market and the Kivukoni fish market; a boat to Bongoyo Island for a beach and snorkeling; or historic Bagamoyo and the Kaole ruins. If your team's third group match is in Dar es Salaam, this is where it fits, and we move the ferry back a day.

Why This Order: Matches, Safari, Then the Beach?
Group matches are usually a few days apart, and the gap between the first two is just long enough for the 2-day Mikumi safari by SGR train: out on the early train, a night inside the park and back the next evening. Zanzibar comes last because the ferry leaves from Dar es Salaam and international flights leave from Zanzibar, so there is no backtracking, and you finish the trip rested. June and July are the dry season in both places, good for game viewing in Mikumi and for the beach.

Common Questions About the AFCON Dar es Salaam, Mikumi and Zanzibar Package
Are match tickets included?
No. Tickets are sold through the official tournament channels, but we can help: we guide you through the official sale, help you buy tickets for your team's matches and can arrange the purchase for you, then plan the days and transfers around them.
Which stadium is used in Dar es Salaam?
The Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Temeke, south of the city center, Tanzania's main national stadium with 60,000 seats. It is one of four proposed Tanzanian venues; CAF confirms the final venues with the fixtures. Your driver takes you there and back on each match day.
What if my team plays three matches in Dar es Salaam?
We keep you in Dar es Salaam for the third match, usually on Day 6, and move the ferry to Zanzibar back a day, adding a night if needed. Each extra match day is US$40 per person for the return transfer.
How do we travel between Dar es Salaam, Mikumi and Zanzibar?
By the SGR train to Morogoro and then by road to Mikumi with your guide, and by the fast ferry, about two hours, to Zanzibar. There are no domestic flights in this package.
Do I need my passport for Zanzibar?
Yes. Zanzibar has its own immigration check on arrival, even from mainland Tanzania, so keep your passport with you on the ferry.
Why is there no fixed price yet?
We are confirming hotel rates in Dar es Salaam for the tournament, so the full package is quoted for your dates and hotel level. The other parts already have fixed prices, listed on this page, and your quotation shows each one.
What if the fixtures change or my team goes through to the next round?
We rearrange the free days around the new dates and add nights or match transfers if you stay longer; each extra match day is US$40 per person for the return transfer, or US$30 per person for groups of four or more.
Is Jaynevy Tours an official AFCON partner?
No. We are an independent Tanzanian tour operator based in Moshi, and we arrange travel around the tournament; we are not affiliated with CAF or the organizers.
The Bottom Line
For fans following their team in Dar es Salaam, this is the whole trip in ten days: two matches with a driver at your side, a night on safari in Mikumi between them, and Stone Town and the beach to finish. Send us your team, dates and hotel level for a quotation, and we fit everything to the fixtures as soon as they are published.
