The lake region is warm and humid all year. The driest months, roughly June to September and December to February, are best for boat trips and island visits. Rain usually comes in afternoon showers in the wetter months, so mornings are often clear. Mosquitoes are common near the lake, so bring repellent and take antimalarials if advised by your doctor.
