Day 2: Mti Mkubwa camp to Shira 2 Camp
Today you will cover a lot of ground as you trek across a plateau of grassy moorland and heather scattered with volcanic rock formations. We will trek through Shira 1 Camp from where there are often views of Kibo Peak floating on the clouds as we head toward our destination which is Shira 2.. We gain a reasonable amount of altitude as we head towards Shira 1 and parts of the route are fairly steep. As you proceed towards Shira 2 you will get the chance to view the Northern Ice fields from the western side of the mountain with some unusual views of Kibo. Our steady climb across the moorland of the Shira Plateau will help with acclimatization and we enjoy great panoramic views.
Day 3: Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp
The day's trek leads to Barranco Camp via the Lava Tower. This will help with further acclimatization. The campsite is situated beneath the imposing Barranco Wall, a challenging climb for tomorrow.
Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
We tackle the Barranco Wall in the morning, a thrilling scramble. Then, we continue through the Karanga Valley, acclimatizing as we go. Arrive at Karanga Camp, nestled on a ridge with stunning views.
Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
We ascend to Barafu Camp, the base camp for the summit attempt. As we climb higher, the landscape becomes more barren. Rest, hydrate, and mentally prepare for the summit push from the Barafu camp.

The most challenging day begins with a midnight start for the summit. Reach Uhuru Peak at sunrise, celebrating your accomplishment. Descend back to Barafu Camp for a short rest and then continue to Mweka Camp.
Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
The final day involves a descent through the lush rainforest. It's a joyful and easier walk down to Mweka Gate, where you'll receive your summit certificates. Say farewell to your crew and transfer back to your hotel in Moshi.
