What You Need to Know: The 11-day Kilimanjaro climb and safari costs from US$3,410 per person for two travelers with mid-range hotels and lodges (US$3,005 budget, US$4,015 luxury). It includes the 7-day Machame climb with all park fees and your crew, Moshi hotel nights before and after, a private 3-day safari with your own driver-guide, two nights in Karatu, park and crater fees, and airport transfers.
Who Is the 11-Day Kilimanjaro Climb and Safari For?
It is for first-time climbers who want the mountain and the wildlife in one trip of under two weeks. The 7-day Machame is the climb we recommend most to first-timers: enough days to acclimatize, with the climb-high, sleep-low day at Lava Tower. After a night in a bed, the safari is gentle on tired legs: you sit in the vehicle, and the three parks are close together, so there are no long drives. The Serengeti is left out to keep the trip short; for it, see the 13-day version.

Common Questions About the 11-Day Kilimanjaro Climb and Safari
Short answers to the questions our guests ask us most often:
How much is a Kilimanjaro climb and safari?
Our 11-day trip costs from US$3,410 per person for two at mid-range level, US$3,005 budget and US$4,015 luxury, including the 7-day Machame climb, a 3-day private safari, park fees and transfers.
Should we climb first or go on safari first?
Climb first. You arrive at the mountain fresh, and the safari afterwards is a restful way to recover, sitting in the vehicle rather than walking.
Is one night in Moshi enough rest after the climb?
For most climbers, yes. The safari is not physical, and the first drive is only about 3 hours.
Can we add the Serengeti?
Yes. The 13-day climb and Serengeti safari adds two nights including the central Serengeti.
What luggage do we bring for the climb and the safari?
Bring your climbing gear and safari clothes; anything you don't need on the mountain stays at your Moshi hotel while you climb.
Should You Book the 11-Day Kilimanjaro Climb and Safari?
Book it if you want to stand on Uhuru Peak and see the Ngorongoro Crater in one trip of under two weeks, from US$3,410 per person for two at mid-range level. With two more days, the 13-day climb and Serengeti safari adds the plains; to compare all routes first, see choosing the right Kilimanjaro route.
